Ronda celebrates the first week of September the Fair and Festival of Pedro Romero, the only in the world dedicated to a bullfighter.
The Ronda people enjoy the celebrations renewed, with greater weight to the Fair in the center of the city. At the Feria de Pedro Romero de Ronda the main attraction is the Goya traditional Bullfight.
The Goyesca Bullfight has a personality that makes it different. And it is that its the only show of this unique style, with the unrivaled Bicentennial Bullring and the Royal Cavalry Order of Ronda. There are many elements that make the Goyesca Bullfight into a special event.
Certainly the legendary name of Ronda and its ancient history do help, growing older as you dig into it, along with the romantic travelers who opened the way to amazement and enthusiasm, like Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles.
The first Goya bullfight held in 1954 to mark the bicentenary of the birth of world famous Ronda bullfighter D. Pedro Romero. It is declared of National Tourist Interest in Andalusia. This year’s the 57th edition of the Traditional Goyesca Bullfight is held.
This year’s ‘Feria de Pedro Romero’ starts in the evening of Wednesday 4 September . It kicks off with a parade at 7.30pm and continues for the next 5 days. The highlight of the week is the ‘Corrida Goyesca’ which will take place on Saturday 7 September at 5.30pm.
