Málaga by bike (I)
Some days ago my friends and I rented bikes to get to know Málaga better. This way we would be able to see a lot more of the city.
The weather in Málaga was perfect! The sun was shining and everyone was in a good mood. Unfortunately it was a little windy, so we decided to rent electric bikes because driving windward can be exhausting.
So we went to Prima Rent a Car and of course they had bikes in their office in the Calle Alemania, close to the Alameda Principal, the CAC (Centro del Arte Contemporáneo) and the river.
The employee gave us good advice on where to go and especially on how the electric bikes work. But it’s quite easy: just like a normal bike, but you can additionally choose the power of the electric support. The bike helps you each time you depress the pedal. This way you can go really, really fast without overexerting oneself! Of course you could also deactivate this feature.
The location of Prima’s office is perfect because we already were in the middle of the city when we received our bikes. We started following the river upstream to the main road Alameda Principal where we immediately found a cycle way going under the trees and next to the kiosks.
It was separated from the walkway so there were just some bikes. It was really comfortable driving and we also felt safe because the way was situated away from the street and the buses. In the shadow of the trees it was nice to drive while observing the crowd.
When arriving at the Calle Larios shopping street we drove left. The road was wide and even so it was nice to drive.
But unfortunately there were a lot of people so we had to go slowly because we didn’t want to molest the pedestrians. So we went back to the Alameda after having a short look at the cathedral and kept on driving on. There was a very nice way between trees and other plants and it was very beautiful….
